2013 marks Bodacious Dream’s second year of ocean racing competition.
Following Bodacious Dream’s win in the Atlantic Cup in May, Dave will head out to California for exciting Transpac Race …
:: Transpac Race (July 2013) – http://www.transpacrace.com/
This race will see Dave racing not aboard Bodacious Dream, but rather on Bodacious IV … which was the boat that sailed up the Baja Peninsula in April as host vessel for our first Bodacious Dream Expedition.
Dave will be sailing as a part of the 10 man Bodacious Racing Crew. This is a group of old friends, most of whom are from the Great Lakes and single-handed sailors of their own right!
The race is set with three different starts … first on Thursday July 11th from the starting point off Point Fermin at the southern edge of Los Angeles.
The challenging race course takes competitors through a myriad of unforeseen conditions: from the cold, wet northeastern Pacific, through doldrums, enormous seas, abundant squalls and scorching heat, to the blustery trade winds of the Molokai Channel near the finish. After a long and grueling voyage across a lonely expanse of ocean, the racers arrive to the warm “Aloha” greeting promised by the King; honored to this day by scores of island volunteers, visitors, media and supporters.
The Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 25th
